AyuRythm: Turning Ancient Pulse Wisdom into Modern, Personalized Wellness

In a world full of one-size-fits-all fitness plans, AyuRythm stands out for one simple reason, it helps people make healthier choices that actually fit their bodies and lifestyles. The Bengaluru-based startup blends Ayurvedic pulse assessment with modern digital tools to deliver personalized, practical wellness guidance in minutes instead of months.

The Mission: Personalization Over Prescription

AyuRythm’s mission is to make wellness contextual and body-type-aware. Instead of prescribing generic diet or workout plans, it aims to help users understand their unique constitution (Prakriti) and current state (Vikriti) – the foundation of Ayurveda – and then bridge that gap through small, consistent steps.

The focus is on adherence over hype and outcomes over vanity metrics. It’s about helping users stay consistent, not just start strong.

What AyuRythm Offers

AyuRythm has built a three-part ecosystem that meets users wherever they are — at home, in clinics, or even in stores.

  1. Consumer App:
A guided digital companion that converts your pulse data and self-inputs into daily practices, food guidance, and home remedies tailored to your goals.

  2. Doctor Toolkit – Sahaj Nadi Yantra:
A clinically validated oximeter workflow that helps Ayurvedic doctors perform a 30-second pulse assessment, combining technology with their professional insight.

  3. In-Store & Studio Assessment – Face Nadi:
A selfie-based tool that allows quick wellness checks in retail stores, yoga studios, and wellness centers, linking people directly to products and services that suit their current state.

How It Works: Technology Meets Tradition

Using camera-based photoplethysmography (PPG) – the same principle used in heart-rate sensors – AyuRythm captures micro-changes in blood flow from a smartphone camera.
This data, combined with profile inputs and short questionnaires, helps estimate a user’s constitution and current imbalance.

The app then offers personalized recommendations, from breathwork and diet to sleep and lifestyle habits, matched to each user’s Ayurvedic profile.

Personalization at Scale

Every user journey starts by identifying who they are (their inherent body type) and where they are today (their current imbalance).
Two users with the same goal – say, better sleep – might get completely different recommendations depending on their Ayurvedic constitution.

Who’s Using AyuRythm

While AyuRythm’s downloads have crossed the one-million mark, the team has shifted focus from chasing numbers to deepening engagement, especially among the 15–35 age group, a segment where habit formation is both fragile and vital.

The company has backing from institutional and angel investors, allowing it to focus on clinical validation, data reliability, and expanding distribution channels.

The Founder’s Journey

Founder Abhilesh Gupta built AyuRythm after years of experimenting with intense workout routines and realizing that sustainability beats intensity.
His insight: people need flexible options, not rigid plans. That principle shaped AyuRythm – short assessments, clear guidance, and forgiving pathways that adapt to real life.

Data With Purpose

Over the years, AyuRythm has collected a rich dataset of user assessments, constitutions, goals, and outcomes.
The team collaborates with academic and clinical partners to analyze this information and identify which Ayurvedic practices drive measurable changes for different body types.

This data-driven approach is helping bring Ayurveda closer to scientific validation while staying true to its principles.

Building Trust Before Revenue

Unlike many wellness startups, AyuRythm prioritized credibility before commercialization.
They invested early in clinician partnerships, hospital-grade validations, and intellectual property protection before expanding into retail and B2B integrations.

That approach has built strong trust among both Ayurveda believers and curious newcomers who want evidence and ease of use.

Three Core Audiences

  1. Believers: People who already follow Ayurveda and become advocates within their communities.

  2. Seekers: Health-conscious users exploring digital wellness options and drawn to clarity and results.

  3. Mass Adopters: Everyday consumers who discover AyuRythm in places they already frequent – stores, studios, and clinics.

The Shark Tank India Moment

AyuRythm gained national attention after appearing on Shark Tank India, which dramatically increased visibility – and demand.
The experience taught the team valuable lessons about scaling infrastructure and maintaining reliability during growth spurts.
As they put it, in health tech, trust is the only real moat.

What’s Next for AyuRythm

  • Ambient Distribution: Bringing quick pulse assessments to public spaces — stores, airports, clinics — to make personalized wellness accessible everywhere.

  • Enhanced Doctor Tools: Streamlining how clinicians integrate assessments into treatment protocols.

  • Published Evidence: Sharing constitution-specific outcomes to support research, insurers, and policy alignment.

  • Global Reach: Expanding Ayurveda’s footprint digitally in markets where traditional health systems have matured earlier.

A Call to Partners

AyuRythm is inviting collaboration across the wellness ecosystem:

  • Retailers & Studios: Install in-store assessment points for personalized recommendations.

  • Brands & Manufacturers: Integrate body-type-based guidance into product discovery.

  • Clinicians & Hospitals: Use the toolkit to enhance reach without diluting practice.

  • Researchers & Payers: Co-develop evidence that bridges Ayurveda and modern health systems.

The Bottom Line

When wellness advice matches the person in front of it, effort drops and consistency rises.
AyuRythm is betting that the shortest path to better health is a specific one – quick to assess, easy to follow, and available wherever people already are.
